Singapura Cat: Facts & Trivia

The Singapura cat is the smallest of the domestic cats. They are extremely shorthaired with big ears. There name comes from Malay word for the country of Singapore, where the Singapura may have originated.

Singapura Appearance: 

Singapura cats are small cats weighing 4-8 pounds (1.8 – 3.6 kg). These cats have short, fine, silky, closely laying fur that is brown ticked agouti, which is banded fur having alternating brown and yellowish colors.They have big ears and big eyes that are yellow, green, or hazel. 

The Singapore Tourist and Promotion Board selected the Singapora as its mascot. 

Singapura cats have a lifespan of 11-15 years.

Singapura Temperament: 

Singapura cats are active, busy, curious and affectionate cats that will follow you around and meet strangers at the door. Despite this they also will happily jump into your lap if you give them a chance. 

Singapura cats remain active into old age. They are comfortable in almost any situation, but will startle at loud noises.
