Ragdoll Cat: Facts & Trivia

The Ragdoll is a large, fluffy, docile cat that goes limp when held. The Ragdoll is a colorpoint with brilliant blue eyes.

Ragdoll Appearance: 

Ragdoll cats are large weighing 8-20 pounds (4.5-9.1 kg). They are sturdy cats, with broad chests. The fur is medium long, soft, silky with very little undercoat. Despite this they need minimal grooming. They come in three patterns colorpoint, bicolor, mitted and six colors, seal, red, creamy, blue, chocolate and lilac. 

Kittens are born white and start to get their color after eight to ten weeks, but their full color take three to four years. They also take four years to fully mature.

Ragdoll cats have a lifespan of 12-17 years.

Ragdoll Temperament: 

Ragdoll cats are affectionate, loyal companions who love to be held or sit in your lap. Because of their mellow nature they don’t mind being dressed up, held like a baby, or walking on leash. They are highly social animals and want to be involved in all the family activities. They also travel well. 

The Ragdoll enjoys learning tricks, including playing fetch. They are not climbers, preferring to be on the same level as their human companions.
