Ragamuffin Cat: Facts & Trivia

The Ragamuffin is a large, fluffy cat that goes limp when held. The Ragamuffin is the result of breeding Ragdoll cats with Persians, Himalayans, and domestic longhairs.

Ragamuffin Appearance:

Ragamuffin cats are large weighing 8-20 pounds (4.5-9.1 kg). They are sturdy cats, with broad chests, and often a pad on their stomach. The fur is medium long, soft, silky and dense, much like rabbit fur. Despite this they need minimal grooming. These cats come in almost all colors and patterns.

Kittens are born white and start to get their color after eight to ten weeks, but their full color take three to four years. They also take four years to fully mature.

Ragamuffin cats have a lifespan of 12-16 years.

Ragamuffin Temperament:

Ragamuffin cats are affectionate, loyal companions who love to be held. Because of their mellow nature they don’t mind being dressed up, held like a baby, or walking on leash. They are highly social animals and want to be involved in all the family activities. They also travel well.

The Ragamuffin enjoys learning tricks, including playing fetch. They do well with strangers and will help you meet them at the door.
