The Balinese is named after the exotic dancers from the island of Bali. They are svelte, muscular, and extremely agile. The Balinese weighs in at 5-10 pounds (2.3-4.6 kg) and comes in a variety of colors: seal point, chocolate point, blue point, and lilac point.
Balinese kittens are born pure white or cream and gradually develop points on the colder parts of their body. Interestingly, if a Balinese has pink paw pads it is a chocolate or lilac point and if it has dark pads it is a blue or seal point.
Balinese have a lifespan of 18-22 years.
Balinese are opinionated, busybody, inquisitive cats, but are considered to be the mellow version of their Siamese cousins. Balinese are constantly underfoot, follow their owners around, and love to be in their laps or in bed with you.
They are known to be extremely graceful, agile, and polite. They enjoy playing with toys and some like walking on a leash with their owners. They are not quiet cats and will tell you what they are thinking.
While they do not need constant attention and can be left at home while you are at work, they will demand your focus when your at home.
Other: This breed is recognized by the CFA, ACFA, FIFe, TICA.
